A Mother's Plea
By Mary Ann D.

Poems by
Mary Ann D.

I was never given a manual on how to be a parent.
In this 21st century it really doesn’t matter.
Raising teenage sons with such a stubborn will.
I find it hard to master and the challenge isn’t thrilling.

I’m faced with generational curses from day to day.
Many sleepless nights I find it so hard to pray.
I often ask myself, “where did things go wrong”?
I thought I gave the orders not take them from my sons.

I just say a prayer and hope it’s not to late.
I ask for ministering angels to surround my son.
Minister to their spirit and show them where they’re wrong.

I ask for God’s protection as they run live out on the streets.
Please shield them from all harm for their souls are weak.
I pray that someone special will come into their lives.
Please send a special mentor to show them what is right.
