Love Forgotten
By Mary Ann D.

Poems by
Mary Ann D.

I have never seen my mother cry or say-”Mary I love you”.
I believe she had a heart of stone and found these things hard to do.
“Mama don’t you love me”? I asked her this one day.
“Do you love  me” came back to me in a smirkful way.
To hear her mutter these words really pricked me to my heart.
So to this very day is has torn my world apart.

I try so hard to comprehend these feelings I feel inside.
I have been so wounded all I want to do is cry.
Even though she has passed away the pain is always there.
This is one tough burden I find so hard to bear.
