Mary Ann D.
I just can’t seem to comprehend
The choices that he makes.
He does not seem to realize
I am affected by his mistakes.

As I sat and wrote this poem,
I just don’t have a clue.
Can somebody please share with me
What is a mother Supposed to do?

When I became a mother-
I never anticipated days like this.
Days of many troubles and woes, and
All is looking bleak.

Burglaries in the neighborhood, and
My son’s name in the midst.
My very first reaction- ”Not My Son”
This certainly is a twist.
All the evidence stuck in my garage,
This just should not be.
None of the things I’m looking at-
Does not even belong to me.

I taught this boy right from wrong
From the day that he was born.
Now he only listens to
His peers and hormones.
