| You’ll Always Be Daddy To Me A lifetime of memories come to my mind today. On this which is your eightieth birthday. How mom and you met and fell in love. A union that was planned by God above. Our two families blended to make one. Little did we know how close we would become. You were a man who loved God, and that must be, Why you were able to love us all even though we were many. We spent many birthdays and holidays together. In those precious times you taught us to love each other. Not by being critical or by demeaning in any way, But by letting your life be an example to us every day. I grew to be a young woman, and I remember the day, You stood by my side on my wedding day. You saw me shaking and you said, honey are you sure? Your hug stopped my trembling, your reassurance was the cure. Years passed by, and my family grew. My children got to know and love you too. A grandpa they could count on to stand by their side. At various school activities, and important times in their life. Little did we know what life would bring. Your body in so much pain, my life filled with death’s sting. God’s love helped us to find the way, To have the strength and courage to make it through each day. Two years have passed since the day you went to sleep. You are watching us from Heaven, because His love commandment you did keep. We will always try to remember the example your life gave. To share God’s love to all that our lives touch each day. By Karen A. 9/4/2007 In Memory of Al Fugate 1927 - 2005 |
